Leah Jung's Blog
Spring 2011 Magazine Work:
Front Magazine, a men's magazine sold in the UK, United States, Australia and Canada, distributes about 100,000 print copies per issue (wikipedia).
They recently selected 69 tattooed women to represent the best of us worldwide. I was featured among outstanding front-runners such as Sabina Kelley, Radeo, Kat Von D, and Apnea. I was honored when they contacted me. The photo they published was taken by Peter Demuth. (Page 77 of issue 154)

I'm also on this month's cover of Tatowier Magazine, Germany's first and largest print tattoo magazine. This photo was taken in Los Angeles by Ama Lea.

My most recent interview was conducted by fIXE Magazine. fIXE Magazine.com is an online publication that presents Fetish, Pinup, Goth, etc. Their over-simplified description is, “Like Maxim, but kinky”. This photo was taken by Sawicki Studios in Amsterdam, NY.

New Knee Tattoo Agony
Last weekend I went to the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Convention! Friday I spent the evening with my friends Cultural Enigma (founder of Cult of Angels) and Photographer PK Brazil.
Saturday was THE BIG DAY. The often mimicked but never duplicated Jeremy Miller from Austin, Texas, joined me on my newest tattoo adventure. The dreaded kneecap!! Here we are out on the floor. Miller at the machine. Jung under the needle.
WARNING: RESULTS NOT TYPICAL, I AM A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL ;)

Awesome candid photo courtesy of Joey D
Before I share the photos of the tattoo, I want to thank everyone who was in charge of the convention, everyone who stopped to say hello, and the lady who put that extra ladle of cheese on my philly steak. Thank you. Oh, and to Hot-rod Chrissy from Facebook for being bewildered after I told her who I was, saying,"You look like a fifteen year old." So, thanks to whoever was in charge of the lighting.
The final wipe-down came about six hours after we started. Most of which were grueling, but Jeremy and another artist from his shop, TJ, were a calming agent. Professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant-smelling young men. Thanks to their efforts to travel over 1,500 miles to Philly, I am now the proud owner of this high-heel stabbing an eyeball.

Below is a photo taken at brunch the following morning, Sunday, by the fine people at Inked Magazine. Quite swollen!

Now, today, three days after I got my kneecap tattooed, I am STILL LIMPING. And not just a slight limp that I can hide with some swagger. It's an "I can't straighten my right leg more than 130degrees" birth-defect waddle. Don't laugh, its not funny. There are pictures below showing the bruises I have today. They were taken after the skin was freshly washed and dried. You see the yellow discoloring all around the tattoo?... that is a giant BRUISE that's covering my entire knee (an unfortunate effect of getting tattooed over a long period of time on certain areas)

It's also stiff, scabbing in a few areas, and swollen. I cannot wait for this one to be finished healing! Needless to say, I'm not in any rush to do the other knee. Don't let all this whining confuse you, I am thrilled with the way this new piece came out. Thanks again to Jeremy Miller from Pigment Dermagraphics. And speaking of having awesome tattoos...
I ended up taking home the THIRD PLACE OVERALL FEMALE award from the Philadelphia Tattoo Arts Tattoo Convention. Very honored!! Can't wait to see all of you again!
January 23 - "Promo Pie"
Modeling- comparatively, is a small yet significant part of my peachy life. It can also be sliced down into many different types. Most followers have seen my published work before. Here are some pictures from recent promotional events! Tasty!
Pictured below is me, stylist Lia Palermo (far right), and Cary from fIXE Magazine as guests of honor at the fIXEOTICA Fetish & Exotic Dancer Party in Clifton, NJ at the Platinum Dollz club.

Harley-Davidson had me, Cat, and Toni unveil their newest motorcycle, The Black Line. This event, (at Don Hills in NYC) had a full guest list long before the doors even opened. One blogger, Sarah Shaker wrote: "With a three hour open bar and Paul Sevigny rocking the DJ booth, it was obvious this had epic night potential. The crowd was filled with hipsters staring at the biker babes (Kate Von D look-alikes) posing on the motorcycles on stage. This scene would have been Jesse James' dream."

I also recently did charity work for The Fallen Heroes Memorial, along with Fast Lane Biker Magazine, and Tattoo Tony from the television show "Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It"

Hope to see you at the next event I'm at! In the meantime, check out these past blogs with pictures of my published work, and pictures from 'behind-the-scenes' !!

Jan 13, 2011 "The Door is Unlocked."
He didn't have to point out to her that she usually didn't answer her phone when he called. They both knew it was intentional. She told him she had important news to share this time. She was going on a trip, an extraordinary opportunity.
"Well, how long will you be gone?"
"Quite a long time," she answered, "but why don't you stop over before I leave? The door is unlocked."

January 10th, 2011 - Fashion Show, TV appearance & more!
This past weekend was a busy one! Saturday I was the model for Rumors Salon & Spa in a hairstyle competition at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, New York. Our team took home the honor of second place! Here I am standing next to the first place winner.

Then Sunday, I headed out to The Green Martini in Concord, New Hampshire to play an acoustic set with my side project, The Humming Burden. We opened for the mind-blowing solo artist, Masceo! click on his name to check him out, he has free music for download! Here is a little peek from the sidelines at my performance:

We had an amazing time, were well received, and Masceo even joined us as we did a cover of one of his more elusive tunes. More shows will be announced soon!
Lastly, the Sunday ended with my appearance on the television show, The Glenn Slingerland Situation. We talked magazines and music, and were marveled by sexy women in black. And of course I have a sneak peek of that also! Yes, it is a picture of the television, haha! My mom took it, bless her heart.
